ANKARA, (DHA) – Qatar Ministery of Health Dr. HananMohammed Al Kuwari has directly made contact with the private health sector in Turkey in order to send patients who are unable to find treatment facilities or opportunities in their country to Turkey.

Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office added Turkey to the countries including US, UK, Germany and Thailand that will be applied for getting health services by the help of state facilities or individual facilities. Last week, Qatar Minister of Public Health HananMohammed Al Kuwari met with representatives of the public and private sectors in Ankara about in particularly health education and health tourism topics. 

Dr. Al Kuwari accompanied by a delegation, have met Medicana International Ankara Hospital Director General Dr. Gülçin Turkmen Sarıyıldız. The Minister has visited the Medicana Ankara Hospital and received information about health tourism from hospital managers and physicians. Besides Sarıyıldız Spine Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Şenköylü, General Surgery Specialist Assoc. Dr. Fahri Yetişir and Radiation Oncology Specialist Assoc. Dr. Petek Erpolat have informed the delegation. Additionally, there was Undersecretary of the Qatar Embassy in Ankara AbdullaAlneami, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Salih Ali Al Merri, Advisor to the Minister of Health Ahmed Muhammed Al Mulla and Turkish diplomatic authorities at the meeting.

“QATAR IS AFFECTED BY THE TURKISH HEALTH SECTOR” 

Director of Medicana International Ankara Hospital Gülçin Turkmen Sarıyıldız who has made a statement after the visit said that ‘’ The State of Qatar wants to cooperate with Turkey on the subject of health tourism, especially organ transplantation.’’ Sarıyıldız said that Qatari Minister Al Kuwari impressed by health education and advanced medical applications in Turkey and added that ‘’ In the region, Turkey is attracted attention in terms of human resources of health sector that it has. Our physicians are conducting training activities in this field for their colleagues from many countries. In this context, Qatar is affected by the Turkish health sector. Capital buys technology, but it doesn’t make sense if there are not experienced human resources on how to use it. They want to cooperate with us in this context. The guest minister was also impressed by the power of our female managers and physicians and congratulated us.’’
