According to the statement from Medicana, the patient who has undergone lots of surgery due to loss of function in the trachea, has come back to the life thanks to Cuneyt Aydemir, a faculty member of Medicana Camlica Hospital Chief Physician.
21 year old Iraqi Mustafa Faruk who had an traffic accident on his way back from picnic to home with his friends, was given medical treatment in his country.
In the intensive care unit, after he was intubated due to respiratory failure, obstruction in his trachea has developed. So that in the postoperative period, respiratory tract infection and infection-related tissue loss occurred, Faruk has undergone another operation for the improvement of the tissue loss.
The patient was unable to breathe because his muscles of trachea did not have cartilage tissue. In the operation, tracheostomy cannula was placed to the patient whose trachea was patched with tissues from the neck muscles.
In addition to experiencing speech problems due to tracheostomy cannula, thus the fact that the cannula is not suitably sized to the trachea causes the development of obstruction combining with experience difficulties in breathing, Faruk applied to Medicana Çamlıca Hospital.
In the hospital, the bronchoscopy and balloon application were performed to deal with the obstruction of the trachea, Montgomery tube was also placed to ensure continuous breathing and prevention of difficulties in breathing.
9 months after the operation carried out by Cüneyt Aydemir, when Faruk came for postoperative check, it was seen that the deformation in the trachea was improved. Faruk underwent a cleaning operation again.
The Montgomery tube that providing breathing was removed and replaced by a shorter silicone stent. After this successful operation, the hole in his throat was also closed due to the lack of need. Faruk was discharged in a healthy way by allowing him to breathe normally.
